Trash to Treasure Photos

Geez, one would think it was Christmas or something and I haven't done a thing for a month.  I was working on my trash to treasure gallery pieces.   This was fun, and I want to create a "contest" for my beader friends.  Don't get too excited, I cannot give away an ipad or anything, but maybe a class or something.  It's fun to create within perimeters (sometimes) and more fun to see what others come up with...so stay tuned and lets see what I dream up.

AWESOME GIFT BRACELET

This bracelet was a surprise gift from a lady that buys beads from me.  I told her I was going to post on my blog because I thought it was really cool.  The best part, all you beaders, is this was totally unexpected.  As beaders we sometimes loose focus on the fact that beadwork is just plain beautiful.  If you, like me, read the bead magazines (a/k/a Beading Bibles), you sometimes feel your work doesn't match up.  They have amazing stuff in those magazines, but you put your heart into your work, so when you give it to someone that goes with it.  Over the holidays think about sending someone something you have made.  Better yet, do it before the holidays or after when it is least expected.   Beading is a beautiful way to say things what words don't.  I thank this woman again for her gift!!!

UPDATE

A request was made for the Russian Spiral on a weekend....anyone interested before the holidays?

Also, there was interest for teaching this on Thursday, December 1 at 10:30 am.  If interested in this, contact me to book space.  Any needs for quick projects for holiday gifts?

Where Have I Been?

Geez, I have been pathetic!  So much going on.  I will have a few new posts tomorrow or the next day.  Stay tuned.

Please post or email what classes you want to prepare for the holidays?  We have a Russian Spiral class tomorrow night...Wednesday, November 30 at 7:00.

I am working on a few pieces to send to the art gallery in Hood River, Oregon.  The art show is themed "Trash to Treasure".  Anyone got any really cool ideas?  I will post what I have finished in a few days.  Would like opinions.  This is harder than I thought.

BEAD ECSTASY IS HERE!!!!

You saw the amazing place where Bead Ecstasy will be held, we now have the projects and the prices.

I opted for our first class to be a beginning beading class.  This beautiful "tennis" bracelet is one project that will be taught.  This bracelet would make a wonderful gift (after you have made several for yourself).

These earrings will be the second project for the day.  Utilizing the same basic right angle weave stitch as in the tennis bracelet, you will create these stunning earrings.  They are much nicer in person.  You can mix and match these two projects.

Details on the class:
This class will be held both on THURSDAY, October 27 10 am-4 pm and SATURDAY, October 29 10 am-4 pm.

Our first Bead Ecstasy session is being offered at an introductory price of $95.  Remember, this includes a wonderful lunch and a shoulder/chair massage.

Kits will be available also for a reduced price of $20 for both projects.  To reserve space send a post or email:  kimleahy@estherbeadwork.com.  Space is limited, so book early.  This promises to be a very nice beading day.

Beaders.....We have the Location!!!!!

Studio looking out to the veranda
The location for the Bead Ecstasy Class has been finalized.  Just a peak.....The two photos represent the studio where we will be working  beading, and the other photo is the veranda where you will be served a gourmet lunch poolside.  The setting is beautiful, quiet and at the same time so inviting.  I didn't want to leave when I went to take photos.  I wanted to sit down and bead the entire day.  The rest of the details will be forthcoming....stay tuned.
Can you think of a better lunch spot....
